Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at bigdogduckcalls@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our calls come with your choice of an Echo or Buck Gardner insert, with a single or double-reed configuration.

We can customize the bands, but we typically require a minimum order of 6 calls to cover the set-up cost of producing custom bands.  Contact us if you’re interested in customized bands.

Double-reed calls tend to be easier to blow, and are great for beginners, while single-reed calls tend to have a greater range but can be more difficult to master.  It’s really a matter of personal preference, and with practice, either style can produce great quality sound that’ll bring ‘em in close!

Here’s a link to a good YouTube video on tuning single and double-reed duck calls:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkWcbjUFsOo
